What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. “Local storage” is a similar browser mechanism that lets a site remember small pieces of information (such as your settings) on your device. Both can be set by the site you are visiting (“first-party”) or by other domains (“third-party”).
What we use — and what we do not
okton.app uses only strictly-necessary and functional cookies and local storage. We do not use analytics, advertising, marketing or tracking technologies of any kind, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Because everything we use is strictly necessary or functional, no prior opt-in consent is legally required (under the ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3) and, in Germany, TDDDG §25, which exempt strictly-necessary storage). We therefore show a short informational cookie notice rather than an opt-in consent banner.

The Supabase authentication cookies are set only when Okton staff sign in to the private dashboard; ordinary website visitors will not receive them.
How to control cookies
You can control or delete cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or remove them and clear stored site data. Please note that because the items above are strictly necessary or functional, blocking them may affect how the Site works (for example, your language or appearance preference may not be remembered).
If this ever changes
We currently use no analytics or marketing technologies. If that ever changes — for example, if we add website analytics — we will update this policy and introduce a proper opt-in consent banner so you can choose before any non-essential cookies are set.
